John Wah received his Ph.D. in Pedology from the University of Maryland in 2003 and has worked with soils in archaeology since 1996. His main interests are eolian sediments, particularly loess in the eastern U.S., and stratified alluvial sequences. John has recently become more involved in soils education, teaching graduate level field soils at Shippensburg University, guest lecturing for the Penn State and Washington College archaeological field schools and the Shippensburg University field methods course. John is the 2011 President of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Professional Soil Scientists and has received a three year appointment as a Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History Research Collaborator.
